Modern designers are increasingly using more glass in construction of today?s homes and workplaces. This use of stylized and etched glass, whilst aesthetically pleasing, leads to increased glare throughout the home or workplace, lack of privacy, damaging UV radiation and most importantly increased heat which lowers energy efficiency. Many home designers have tried to compensate for this by simply using coloured (grey) glass. This helps a little, but it is commonly known that metallised films, such as those used by Tint Direct for our house window tinting, block up to twice the heat of simple coloured float glass. Using this technology gives many new options from low reflection through to high reflection, but more importantly film that is barely visible to the naked eye whilst still providing extraordinary heat block.
